Improving Yedda: http://yedda.com/questions/Improving_Yedda_1869149124114
Take the example of charged-per-minute phone coversations: having to pay to talk, more or less acts as an incentive to focus on the most important things and cut the crap. Do you think a business model around this principle can be applied to a service like Yedda? The most straightforward approach for one to think about making money from a service like Yedda seems to be to charge for the knowledge/ expertise/ know-how you get from the answers. This is not practical for a variety of reasons, though. Then we have advertisement - obviously the current business model of Yedda. Not very impressive. Premium features? Again not very practical. Customize the platform for the private entperprise - sounds about right - the basic service of Yedda gets improved from the feedback of the wide public customer base and then the sophisticated product goes for narrow private use - but would that make enough money? Then what if Yedda discovered a way to get money from making people participate with more focus and relevance in the discussions, just like in the example with the phone above? Any ideas if this could be really implemented to Yedda and how?
i guess u think all da peeples who b askin questions wanna git real answers.
u aint rite. sum peeples jus wanna have fun an talk ta dey internet friends.
That is correct. The point then is which target group would Yedda aim at - those seeking answers to questions or those seeking an entertaining convesation. I think by definition, as a "Q&A" service Yedda's natural audience ought to be the first type.
yea, i guess. but i think da uther kind iz ok 2. i kinda met sum peeples on here an i mite b friends wit em. so r u sayin dat we cant chat no more n stuff? cuz i aint kno em real good yet, so i aint gonna b givin em my email or nuthin.
Not at all. I think that just the two things should be separated. (Which is by far not an easy thing to implement. Think of the natural human conversations we carry on offline - we swap to-the-point talk aimed at solving a particular task with lighthearted emotional talk all the time.)
