To give you the quick answer - Yedda is a Community Knowledge Exchange – a service that connects knowledge sources with knowledge consumers, leveraging the long tail of knowledge.
Yedda strives to bring together individuals with mutual interests on any topics in a dynamic, open, collaborative environment, and thus to make the unlimited value of personal knowledge as accessible as documented information is on the Internet.
Yedda is focused on Tacit knowledge - accumulated knowledge, skills experience, opinions etc. - information that is typically much harder to find in regular web search.
The search for people who can answer your question continues for as long as needed - until you find the answer you were looking for.
When an answer is posted by someone who was invited (byYedda or by yourself) to answer your question, their answer is marked with a yellow "invited by Yedda".
To be invited to answer other people's questions in your areas of knowledge and interest, be sure to list your favorite topics:

Yedda complements forums by providing a richer, more efficient and easier to use experience when it comes to questions and answers.
Some key differences when asking a question:
- One stop shop - in Yedda, you don't have to search for a specific forum to place your question in. All your questions, on all topics, can now go through a single point of entry.
- Classification - when you enter a question, we suggest some topics with which you can classify your question. Once you do that, people who are interested or knowledgeable about these topics will not only be able to locate your question quickly, but will automatically be exposed to your question.
- Proactive - forums follow the bulletin board model, where newer posts (questions) take the place of older ones, which scroll down the list and disappear from public attention. In a busy forum, this could happen very quickly.
