Your mother is not waiting / expecting for the present and or the value of it.....  she is waiting to get a note to say how much you love her, how much you care and how much you appreciate what she did / doing / will do for you and for being your friend (if that's the case, never lie !) and always being there when you needed her.   Write her what you feel inside your heart.
