It's really hard to get an accurate figure.  The reason: Not all countries really know how many citizens they have..... and how many illegal immigrants live in their countries.  So any number is a rough estimate.  Here are the figures (From various data bases):  Asia - 3,713 Million.  Africa - 933 million.  Europe- 810 Million.  South America + Carribians - 557 Million.  North America - 335 Millions.  Middle East - 193 Millions.  Australia + Oceania - 35 Million.  All together 6,575 Million people.  I have read other figures as well ranging from 6.3 Billion to 8.1 Billion.  Personally I believe the figure is about 7 Billion.

I don't know exactly how accurate

this site's statistics are, and it's quite obvious they're based on some mathematical model and not on real counting, but nevertheless, it's interesting and might give you some sort of estimate.
