apply, but getting the benefits is another matter.

I am in New Jersey. Starting this week, I can only work 1 day and make about $100. I've been working the same job for 4 years. Is there any benefit for "under employed"?

Try http://nj.gov/nj/employ/.  You can apply online for unemployment benefits and get your answer.
