It depends on whether or not you are salaried or hourly and what your company's policies are on this issue.  Your Human Resources department should be able to provide you with a manual outlining the policies regarding overtime--some even have it online.  As a salaried employee, I worked Thanksgiving because of a deadline and didn't receive overtime.  I just coded the fact I worked so it didn't register as PTO (paid time off).  Hope this helps!
