Should I receive overtime if I work 40 hours during the week and work on two of the four day working on holiday? I heard we don't get overtime rate for working holidays. Ed
It depends on whether or not you are salaried or hourly and what your company's policies are on this issue. Your Human Resources department should be able to provide you with a manual outlining the policies regarding overtime--some even have it online. As a salaried employee, I worked Thanksgiving because of a deadline and didn't receive overtime. I just coded the fact I worked so it didn't register as PTO (paid time off). Hope this helps!
