hi Pat, I just so happen to work for the State of Conn. Works Compensation Department, I don't know what State you live in but you should call Wrks Comp. and fill out a notice of Claim Form which give you a right to claim with the state of in my case Conn. You also have to send a copy to your employer and keep one for yourself. This should be mailed certified or hand delivered and there is more than one district depending where you are living. If you should have trouble problems unpaid medical bills, or get fired because you can't work you have a right to a hearing and go before a commisioner would will then decide what is going on in your case.
