I'm interested in:

If I direct my browser to Wordpress' xmlrpc.php ...

If I direct my browser to Wordpress' xmlrpc.php file, should my blog return a 404 error message, or is that a sign that something's wrong?

I'm asking because I'm trying to get Writely to connect to my Wordpress blog and it's just isn't working Frown.

Thanks,

Hi Sarit, long time no see!

Check with your host provider, maybe they are restricting xmlrpc for security reasons (It's not a Wordpress only RPC).

Also check that the file is really there - maybe something got icky in the installation.

Is this the first time you're remotely accessing your blog? Do other such programs (Windows Live Writer, Flickr's Blog This button, Digg's Blog This) work?

Hi Tzafrir :)I do remember using Performancing fro Firefox a couple of times for this blog.

I tried Perofrmancing now and it isn't working. So strange isn't it?

My host doesn't block xmlrpc, and they're checking it out right now. I've searched all over and found a Wordpress.Org support thread saying this file should only return 403 messages. I dunno.. Embarassed

I'll keep you posted, thanks!

Well, I talked to my host and it seems like the problem had something to do with mod_security thingy issue.

It's working now :)
