how can i lock my word 2007 document so no one can copy, edit or even print it without using any password protection -Make it opened safely and read only-
I have Word 2007 and I just checked it to make sure. I couldn't find a way to protect a document without using a password. If you like, I have a friend in New Hampshire and also one here in North Carolina. I could phone them and ask if THEY know a way to protect your document. Sorry if this isn't much help.

The only thing I can think of is to right click on the document. Pick "properties" from the menu that pops up. The new window will have a tab for security. Go there and select your permissions for the document.
In order to lock the content of the doc - you need to work a bit :
1) Go to the "Office" button (top left office logo)2) Choose "Word Options" (buttom right of the menu)3) Goto "Customize"4) In the first list box choose: "Commands not in the Ribbon" 5) Look for "Protect Document" command and add it to the menu6) Now, next to the "Office" button you'll see a green dot - click it7) Choose "Read only" and save the doc
