Hi,

1. Carly is reading too much into it. Carlly bothers
     too much what others (mother aunt) say.... and
     has probablly low selfesteem to know how she
     looks like and ignor those coments.
2. There are several reasons why Sandy said it:
     a. She is jealous.
     b. She is cruel.
     b. Wants to give Mary hard time.
     c.   Has a poor judgement of sizes.
     d.  She is stupid.
     What really bothers me is why should Mary bother
     so much about what Sandy said, it should be clear
     to her that she is skinny and looks well.
3. Yes, I agree, Karry is trying to say that Patti is thin.
     However, she puts it in a dim (unclear, blurry. hazzy)
     way. I'll say she is laking some communication
     capabilities. She wants to be nice and it comes out
     not axactly the way she wants / wishes.
