Are women generally more healthy than men throughout their lives? I want to understand why women tend to live longer than their husbands? Any ideas why?
Simple. Women go to the doctor more often and men don't because they think they are being sissies or not macho if they go to the doctor for anything that isn't life threatening. I think it has something to do with the fact that women are more self-sufficient. They don't need someone else to cook their meals, do their laundry, etc. They can form relationships with people of the same sex and form emotional bonds that help them through the difficult times (those same difficult times that men are likely to hold inside and cause them stress and a premature death).
