It has happened, but it is rare. My parents, for example, have friends who came home from the hospital with a baby who was a surprise on the mom's 50th birthday! They have older kids in their mid-20's...

Look up "change of life" baby or babies & I'm sure you'll find lots of information. Many of these women, however, find out that they are pregnant when they are in early stages of menopause.

I am 45 yo.  Many people cannot understand a woman over 40 even entertaining the thought of conceiving . . . . but no one is the judge of your life.  Some women have a "normal" life (married at 22 yo, no financial upsets, a secure home, family & job) - - Some women's lives take the road less travelled with possibly some twists and turns.  So what?

 Don't let anyone judge you or get you down.  Be healthy, be self-aware, have a support system.  Babies, children, teenagers are awesome!!!  If  you have the energy and you have what it takes - GO for it!!
