Hi,

I have a 3-storey flat, all 6 rooms are cabled through a D-LINK DI-707P (8 ports). I have 2 wireless routers (Buffalo G54 air station and Linksys WRT54GS).

The Buffalo is used on the first floor and a desktop (HP) is hookup to it (I presume it is wireless networking because I can surf the internet without typing the UID and the password). The Linksys is used on the second floor with a notebook(Sony). It works fine but I have to power off the Buffalo before I can surf the internet.

It is inconvenient to switch off the buffalo every time  I want to use my notebook for wireless networking on the second floor. How can I extend my wireless networking without turning off the Buffalo wireless router.

If I disable the Linksys’s DHCP, do I have to make changes in my notebook?

Thanks,

King Kong

You need to disable one of the router's DHCP servers. and configure the one which is not the one dialing to the internet to work as an access point instead of router.
