One of the three style of wines would be my choices. I put them in the order of the best choice down to a good choice.

Zinfandel it pairs well with dishes ranging from BBQ beef to grilled chicken or roast game. With its balanced acidity, forward fruit and soft tannins, it pairs well with hard to match spicy, and highly seasoned foods and sauces.

Sangiovese is a brilliant ruby red wine full of bright, ripe fruit flavors. With its well-rounded, crisp acidity and mild tannins, this wine is extremely versatile and pairs with a wide range of fowl, meat and pasta dishes.

Merlot by nature is a soft, drinkable wine with rich, plum-like flavors with blueberry and cherry notes. The grape—naturally low in tannin—is low in acid.

Cheers and bon appetite!

Good luck and best wishes.

Life's too short for excessive compromise... maximize everything!

I would choose something medium to full body that has a lot of fruit and not too much tannin. My first choice would be a nice zinfandel, Klinkerbrick or Joel Gott are my favorites. I would also consider the Heritage clone petite sirah from Rodenblum.  Some pinot Noirs will work, but the price climbs dramatically!  I like Etude, Gary Farrell and Paul Hobbs.  If you can find the Kanonkop PInotage, that would be a treat as well!
I would also consider Sangiovese.   or a nice Garnacha. deLorimier makes a consistently great Sangiovese year after year, and the Las Rocas de San Alejandro, Old Vines Vinas Viejas, Calatayud, Grenache 2005 is yummy!
