You are looking for wine to drink with it, or cook with? If for cooking, for small (e.g. 1/2 cup or less) of wine in a recipe I just use cooking wine from grocery store. If the wine is a big part of recipe such as coq au vin, I'd use real wine but certainly nothing expensive.
To drink with the dish, for a white I'd go with a chardonnay to stand up to the rich creaminess of the dish. I also think medium bodied reds could work well, such as Rioja, Cote du Rhone or merlot.
