You are looking for wine to drink with it, or cook with?  If for cooking, for small (e.g. 1/2 cup or less) of wine in a recipe I just use cooking wine from grocery store.  If the wine is a big part of recipe such as coq au vin, I'd use real wine but certainly nothing expensive.

To drink with the dish, for a white I'd go with a chardonnay to stand up to the rich creaminess of the dish.  I also think medium bodied reds could work well, such as Rioja, Cote du Rhone or merlot.

For cooking, any inexpensive white will do (Yellow Tail springs to mind, as well as a number of boxed whites as long as they aren't sweet).  For drinking, again, inexpensive Chardonnays or Spanish whites will do quite nicely.  The Chards will complement the creaminess with creaminess of their own, where the Spanish whites will provide a medium acidity that will contrast with the creaminess but have a more fruity character than the Chardonnays..  A more acidic wine like a Sauvignon Blanc would not work because they have too much acidity.
