Can i upgrade to windows 98 se from windows 3.11 for workgroups without losing files on the hard disk, or having to format the hardisk

Are you sure that the computer is even capable of running windows 98? No it is not possible to upgrade windows 3.11 to 98, it would need to be a clean install.

Thanks for reply I was offered a windows  cd which is claimed to upgrade  from 3,1 to 98 se but after reading your reply someone who should know better selling  goods by misrepresention,Thanks again
