My wife seems to be suffering from delusional ...

My wife seems to be suffering from delusional disorder and does not seem to have any symptoms related to schizophrenia or any other disorders that I know of. Her delusion seems to primarily manifest itself as few certain people are after her or are spying on her, following her etc. She has started complaining (more than usual) about her periods. Could this have anything to do with this? Also if she comes back from this will she recognise her delusions as such? Also I think the chances of getting her to get help are nil, unless I can disguise it as medical help for the menstrual problem only. I really could use some help and input on this.

Is she on any medications, recreational drugs, or has there been any significant changes in her lifestyle?  You can also check www.webmd.com for information regarding these symptoms, but yes I would try to get her to a doctor, even call her doctor yourself if you can with your concerns...maybe the doctor could call her in on a "check up" that she didn't realize she needed and she could schedule an appointment with her doctor.  Hope that helps at all, and good luck hopefully she overcomes this paranoid state soon.
