It's definitely stupid in my opinion to get a piercing on one's private parts. There's so much risk of infection and passing on germs, it just doesn't seem worth it. I think most people do it for the attention (they can tell people they have it) and they feel cool/different. It's another way to express yourself, even if it is slightly repulsive.
