There are many diets available to assist you in losing weight but I'd like to say a few words on behalf of an exercise program to go along with the one you chose. The additional weight you are carrying has placed additional stress on your heat and losing weight will help reduce that and an excercise program will help strengthen the heart muscle. You do not have to become a marathen runner or spends hours on a treadmill, 20-30 minutes a day with an accelerated heart rate will do wonders for your physical and mental health as well as burning up calories. You're doing the right thing  and following thru to a successful conclusion will add years to your life. Best wishes for success in your effort.

Any diet will work if you stick to it; however, you will not be able to stay on  most of them on a long-term basis.  You need to find one that you can live with and incorporates the foods you can't live without. If you go on low carbs and you love pastas and breads, it will feel like you are denying yourself and you won't stay on it.  If you go on high protein and don't care for high protein foods, you won't stay on it either.  Make sure you exercise and expend more calories than you take in, and that it is a diet you can live with for the long run.  AND, be patient.   Good luck!!!

There are some really good programs out there that involve natural weight loss. Check with your doctor before starting any program first but here is a site with reviews on a few different weight loss programs. Good Luck http://www.journeydownthescale.info

Dear Arlene,

I  just read your post and I can identify with you. I have been on every diet there is out there, remember that the word diet has the word DIE in it, so diets as you know don't work. You are on the right track when you say that you want a lifestyle change because loosing weight is mostly a mental thing. We need motivation, I like to call it a "personal motivating factor"  something that is a do or die situation for you. If you can't think of a situation to motivate you, make one up.  Forget counting calories but do remember that if you take in more calories then you burn you gain weight thats all thats to it.  So everyone says eat less and move more, but some people just can't get into an excersize mode until they shed a few pounds and feel more comfortable.   Like I said I have tried many programs but I did find one that worked for me and I follow it religiously, I will supply the link to it at the bottom of my post.  With anything that wer are trying to accomplish be it losing weight, writing a book, quitting smoking, we have to really want to do it, or  nothing will work. There is no magic bullet for this if there was I would have found it but with some determination a little hard work anything is attainable, I know I've been there.

Check out this program you have nothing to lose but the weight!.  Good luck to you. Here is the link. http://rbnj57.stripfat.hop.clickbank.net

This simple program that I found worked for me and a few people I on turned on to it.  It's called ' Strip The Fat", They expalin what to eat when you go out to a restaurant which helped me considerably.

Arlene, I agree with the comment (below)

"you want a lifestyle change because loosing weight is mostly a mental thing."

but waiting until you have a weight loss by diet (lifestyle change) to begin a regular exercise program (as suggested below) is a mistake. Since this is lifestyle we're discussing, they must go hand in glove. By exercise program, I'm not suggesting anything more the a simple walk to begin with and as time goes by the exercise portion of your lifestyle will increase. Think of it like this; the more you do, the more you can do. But you've got to start somewhere so if you intend to change your lifestyle then change everything.

"but some people just can't get into an excersize mode until they shed a few pounds and feel more comfortable."

Recognizing a problem is 90% of half the battle and you're at least half way there so best wishes for a healthy safe lifestyle change program.

There are more online weight reducing programs now, but that is much expensive.I advice you to have a self excercise every 5am in the morning start jogging and after jogging,do a lot of sports that can help you reduce in 3weeks time boxing and swimming is the fastest reducing sport. Shadow boxing it will burn all your fats and calories.

I totally agree with each answer posted here. Any diet will work such as natural acai berry supplements. if your mind is already set to do it. If not, nothing will work. If you are not motivated enough to do it, don't even try. You'll just waste your time.
