Yes and no. Disregarding the legality of it (of which I'm sure you're aware), pot can slow reflexes as in driving a car or other places where your attention is required, as pot can slow your reflexes much as alcohol does. If you're not driving or other activities, and are in your own home or somewhere else you're stable, then it's probably OK (except for its legal issues). However, it's considered a "gateway drug", in that if you know where to get it, it's probably from a dealer of some kind. Since dealers deal in other drugs other than pot, they might get you to try something else which will make you "feel better" or "higher", usually free the first time. If you try it, and like it, you'll want more, which the dealer will be glad to sell you. As you like it more and more, the dealer will get you to try stronger and stronger drugs, most of which are addictive. Before long, you ARE addicted, and HAVE to have the drug; that's how addicts get started.
So, as long as you are limiting yourself strictly to pot, and resist dealers or other people trying to get you to use something "better", and you are not driving, etc., then it's safer than alcohol (you can't overdose on pot; you can on alcohol), However, it's more dangerous than tobacco, and can probably cause cancer of the lungs and other organs (this is unproven, but, in my opinion, probably true).
