Yes it is. I think this is because white represents virginity and purity.

As a wedding planner, I have gone to countless bridal houses with bride to be's and although white gowns are popular, I find that a lot of brides choose ivory gowns.  Sometimes it's hard to tell whether or not your gown is white or ivory because the colors are so close to each other.  Some women choose their wedding colors based on their skin tone vs. what's a more popular color choice. I'd have to say that White and Ivory are about neck and neck as far as popularity goes.

I would say for the most part yes. Its no longer a symbol of purity or being a virgin. I think now, its more of a personal preference.

I have been to several weddings and almost all of them wore white.

at one time white ment you were a virgin, not anymore. Once up on a time a wedding dress was just that, a dress, your fancy dress.  Queen Victoria is the one that brought the white wedding dress into vogue.

all a white dress is a symbol of now adays is that your a first time bride.  But then again even those being married for the 2nd,  3rd time, or more will wear white.  In that one, your supposed to not wear the veils.

I guess yes because white represents purity and virginity. Brides in white gown look very elegant.
