well, if u are still stuck, here is another option for u, which does require a bit of work, but should be very flexible in term of abilities;
use a new service called Dapper:
http://www.dappit.com/ (just ask them for a beta account, and u should get it in a few hours).
this service enable you to rip out information from a site and transform it to another form, like RSS feeds, or email alarts and so on.
all u need to do is to mark the data u want to recieve from the web site which lacks rss and so on, using a very simple GUI interface - just click on the headlines of the search result page u want to use for example, and it will do the rest (sort of). it is quite easy to do, and u don't have to be a progammer (i manage to do it in less then an hour).
it might be abit over the top, in terms of what u have to do, but if all else fails, this should work.
as for the RSS problem u mentioned, RSS feeds can sometimes require username/password, which not all RSS reader can handle. just try a different program or website to do the reading. some of them can even digg out for you keywords in the feeds.
