First of all- posting your URL in this Q&A blog is a great way to get more visitors (I clicked it right away)

Smile. I think the best way to make people visit your site is to go to all kind of country music forums and start participating in the dialogs. You can also add the website's URL to your blog nickname and that way each time you write your URL will show.

Thank you Domina!

I was a bit concerned in case folks thought I was 'internet spamming' when I asked that question, but, I thought, what the heck, you never know if some internet marketing guru might want to answer, and, if so, what help I might get, so, I worded it the way I did and clicked. I also thought a little lateral thinking might help, so the 'internet unsavvy' were, of course, welcome to chip in.

As it happens, yours was a very rational and helpful answer. So, maybe a new career awaits you, as an Internet Marketeer! Why not?

Thanks again!

Cheers, George       www.CDbaby.com/inzanecountry

I actually started this second reply because I forgot to add a smiley to the first reply, so here it is! Smile

But, I got a little clever all of a sudden, notice the additional link in the first reply? Wink  Now, that was spamming, so I promise not to do it again folks, alright?

Once again, Domina, thank you!

George

Fertility Stories - infertility experiences of people like you.

Hi George,

I don't know how you're doing in the search engines, but I recommend the following first steps.

In the title of your page, add a few words geared toward the visitors you want to attract, e.g., "Inzane Country - Country Music With a Difference" (I admit, I didn't go through your site, just checked out the page source).

Second - add a page description in the metatags. It should look like this:
<meta name="Description" content="whatever text describes the site">
and be in between the <head> and </head> tags.

These two steps should be done individually for each page on the site.

Good luck!
Rachel

I recommend getting on MySpace. It's free and there are special features for bands/music groups. Here's producer Robin Guthrie's MySpace profile [ http://www.myspace.com/robinguthrie ] as an example. It's quite common to have a MySpace profile that represents the entire band as well. Extremely common and effective, in fact.

To jump [back] to the question of your website, it is very poorly implemented both in terms of layout+design and HTML markup. In order to raise your hit count, and keep those who visit interested and coming back -- known as "stickiness" -- you would need to implement a top-to-bottom makeover, including SEO. [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Search_engine_optimization ]

There are a number of ways to drive traffic to a site that would take many paragraphs to describe. Thing is, you need to have an attractive and useful site for people to visit in the first place. You do have some good assets in place, such as photos and mp3 files, that simply need to be arranged by someone with design experience, along with an experienced coder to implement your HTML correctly.

This is one reason why a MySpace solution could work well for you; especially if you don't have access to a designer and experienced HTML author....
