Will wearing a baseball cap damage my hair?

I am walking around with a baseball cap for some pretty good years. I mean most of the year I am with a cap and yes even when it snows. It is something I got stuck with from collage. No I don't sleep with it.

Anyways people say it will grow me bald very fast. I think I am protecting my hair with it , from the sun damage, pollution etc. I know baldness has a lot to do with genetics and there isn't a lot you can do with it. Anyways my question is will wearing the cap harm my hair?

Wearing a baseball cap in my opinion will not damage your hair, it will actually protect the hair from ultraviolet rays and heat which can cause hair to become extra dry and brittle and to change color. People ten to believe that the hair follicles can't breath. The hair follicles nourish from blood vessels, and get all the supply of vitamins and minerals they need to create hair from the blood stream.

While research have not proven that wearing a cap causes hair loss, it will certainly NOT help with your hair loss. Like you, hair follicles need to breathe.

The most common form of baldness, is medically known as is Androgenetic Alopecia and the condition has been attributed to male hormones affected by genetic inheritance. The triggering hormone is DHT (testosterone and 5-alpha-reductase), a naturally occurring hormone that helps in sexual development. Do some research on DHT and you will learn that there are products out there (like MiN New York's [MiN.com] DHT Cleansing System) can help you proactively address/block this hormone to deter hair loss.

Wearing a cap often will likely cause your hair follicles to be blocked by sweat, natural oils and proteins. Avoid topping your hair with lots of styling products. Cut back on gels, sprays, and mousses, which can all build up on your scalp, making it even oilier.
