Is there a way to untag a picture someone put tags all over?

I have one of those "fansites" on myspace and i've been wanting to upload pictures to it but the ones i want to upload already have "tags" all over them making them look awful and to the point you can't even see the picture. What i mean by tags is...someone has a picture of something or someone already on there page and they have there myspace url all over it or like fansite. I was wondering if there was a way you could save that picture to your computer then edit it yourself or do you have to have the original picture?

The original picture would be the best option. Other than that you could edit them in Photoshop or some other editing program, but to edit the type of pictures that you describe, you may need more than average skills.
