What is the best way to market a web2.0 site for businesses?

In the last enterprise 2.0 conference hosted by IDC Israel they said that the best approach is to start from the "grass root" users.
grass root user - an early adopter of new technology with medium seniority level in the company.
In the more global aspect I would suggest to check the different occupational fields that exist in the usa bureua of labor http://www.bls.gov/oes/oes_dl.htm select the most relevant occupations to you and start to identify where they recieve their information.

How do you get to the people without using web1.0 advertising methods such as spam mail-adds and casual web advertising for fortune.
Do you know any tools or methods that web2.0 has to offer for promoting other useful web2.0 sites?
I have downloaded some free trial SEO software, just a few days ago, so have not used it yet! But, I'm really learning a lot for the free software. If they put this into an ebook, I'm sure they could sell quite a few copies! *Also, on first link below is a website that offers about ten website and blog awards. They are FREE & even provide a link back to your site! Plus, they show the visitors that your site is a noch above the rest. Keep in mind, to get the award you have to have good info on your site and not just junk w/jumping graphics and tons of AdWords! So, bottom line, GET THEIR FREE TRIAL SOFTWARE and even if you do NOT do anything else...you'll learn a great deal about SEO from people who make their livelihood DOING IT!

The simple answer of this question as I think is the communication about your tech in simple to understand through the media that is more frequently accessed by the target consumers rather then just sticking to internet for promoting the idea.
There arestill many people who are new to this field and they are the people who listen to you if you can expalin them at their level of understanding and corelated examples.
Another way is the SOA- service oriented architecture that might be of some help for you.
