I want to tell you a story, a story about a young man who lives in a city, a big city. A city of hope, confusion, despair, and of course uncertainty of the unknown. One day during a very hot summer day we took a train ride, (the P.A.L. wasn’t that much of fun anymore) that was the 1st time we been on the train without our parents or staff from the P.A.L.  we ran up and down on the train. We was heading to Coney Island  the world’s greatest amusement park, we ate and walk on the board walk started talking to some of the girls that live on Surf ave.  It was getting dark, and we was heading home we had a 2 hour train ride. A gang of boys surrounded us and ask for our money we told them if you’re bad enough take it, they pulled out an gun my friend pulled out his, shots rang out I was scared two people went down I ran for cover, I then went over to help those guys that was shot (dame he was fast on the trigger).  I did CPR on one of them the other died. I learned CPR in the Boys Scout.

I can hear EMS coming closer to me, I then ran off with the rest of my friends. The next morning it was all over the News, by this time the other boy died. I was scared, so I confessed to my Priest in a booth. That Priest told me that I know what I had to do and I said but Father I am only 11 yrs old the boy who done this is 17 yrs old and my Mother will punish me for riding the D train out to Brooklyn, that priest was very consistent, he even asked did I want him to go with me to the police?, I didn’t want to be known as a rat however those boys moms need to know what happen, and who done it. Mean while that priest called my Mom and convince my mom to meet us at the 42nd Police dept.
