I don't want to gain weight...but love to snack.

Can someone give me some healthy snacking ideas? I always get hungry between meals.

Fruit and carrot sticks are great snacks at any time and you can have as many as you want. If you have a sweet-tooth, cereal bars, oatmeal cookies or dark chocolate covered nuts(great source of monounsaturated fat for heart-healthy benefits) make also healthy snacks.

Try to keep your snacks and meal at intervals of no more than 3 hours and no less than an hour and a half. Prepare in advance little boxes of fruit and some nuts and vegetables, which you can snack on, and once the poortion is done all you have to wait is 90 minutes till you can eat again. This way you keep the blood sugar levels pretty balanced, and you won't feel hungry.

I think your question shows that you are not eating properly. You should have three meals a day and only three meals. You will always find that overweight people are taking snacks all through the day. A good dietitian can help you plan menus for the three meals and get into the habit of avoiding snacks. If, however, it is too difficult at the beginning snack with rice cakes.

Bean dip

with veggies or low fat pita chips can be a really healthy, satisfying snack. Good luck!
