Why did the chicken cross the road?
~ The Heart is the hub of all sacred places, go there and roam ~
Seriouisly... I was driving down the road just the other day... and there was a lovely buff colored chicken... just standing there (east side).. pecking away at the side of the road. I'm going to assume he did not bother to cross the road because there was house, nothing but trees on the other side. I didn't stop to watch if he did cross the road because I had some errands to complete... but there seemed to be no interest on the part of said chicken to cross that road. I conclude that we were watching different chickens NJoy ; ) ~ Peace, Faith

A better question might be....Why does anybody/anything "do" anything? Since everything and everyone, at their core essence, is Divine Consciousness itself AND as individuals have NO true Power of their own... then the answer must be that Consciousness itself chose to give ITs infinite SELF that experience... just because it could. There need not be a reason.. sometimes Consciousness becomes the wind and blows gently or as a howling hurricane... for the sheer joy of it.
The short answer? For the sheer Joy of it. : )

Because it was there, like Mt.Everest or because she saw a juicier worm over there or as Faith says, for the sheer joy of it.
I think for the sheer joy of it sounds good to me. I was thinking the chicken crossed the road to show the possum that it could be done.
I was just going to have some lunch now I am thinking of that juicey worm that the chicken is crossing the road to get! I don't think I will eat my spagetti after all. But that is a good reason for a chicken to cross the road. I do know on the chicken's day off the elephant crosses the road instead. How do you like that idea?
elephant/chicken, makes no difference. They are both the Divine Consciousness making a choice for the "sheer joy" of it. njoy
I am still not sure why the chicken crossed the road. I do know that in our part of the country there are no dead chickens on the road so they must have made it across. There is a raccon, possum, and a porchipine flattened out on the road at this time only not all in the same crossing. Perhaps the chicken found the right place to cross. We call the other animals that didn't make it across... road pizza! Not something a person would want to eat unless you are a crow. So please send me your opinion on this puzzle, please!
tHE chicken crossed the road because she felt like it. Se did not know it was a road with traffic. She did not know the concept of "road." or "traffic" much less danger. She was simply pecking her way across, one peck at at time, blinded by her stupidity. njoy
If a chicken cross the road it would be to get to the other side
