I hardly know where to start.
Why is your business going downhill? Part of the recession? Can you hold out if you like the business; the opportunity?
Is the grass really greener?
If you have the capital to buy a new business, and you know what your "skill set" is, look for related franchises if that is the way for you to work it out.
If you want "my own business, by ideas, my failures, my successes," then that takes some personal evaluation and research.
Sometimes, for those in doubt, and unsure, Business Coaching workshops, one-on-one programs are helpful, if expensive. But don't use business coaching as a crutch for your own indecision.
But if you are capable, just having some self-doubt at this time, take a step back and "advise yourself."
What are my goals, what do I want? Put it on paper; it helps to focus.
Are you really the right kind of mindset to be an entrepreneur?
Some people aren't.
Sometimes a good idea, and a persistent personality, and enough capital succeed in spite of other problems.
