Hello! We need some help here: My uncle is going ...

Hello! We need some help here: My uncle is going to Vietnam (and back to the U.S.A) during the months of June and July 2008. His U.S. passport is valid until Aug. 19, 2008. His Vietnam Visa is valid until September 2008. Is he going to OK? He was told by a CSR at United Airline that he must have a passport that is expire at least one month AFTER the Visa is expired to be able to travel to Vietnam. This does not make any sense to me. Could you please clarify this? Thank you so much. Tony Tran

He should have his passport valid for 6 months after the date he reaches the boarder.
