What is the best free anti virus protection for a pc that you have found? i have been recently getting a lot of pop ups and there is one that doesnt close so i have to close every window and its starting to get very annoying, i dont have the money to take my computer to a professional so i was wondering if anyone knew how i could fix this at home?

Personally, I think BitDefender Internet Security 2010 is the best antivirus software at the moment. You can try it for 30 days from here: http://www.bitdefender.com/site/Downloads/

I don't know how their free version works but I can guarantee for the Internet Security:)

Download the free version of malwarebytes. Install and run. It should clean the adware on your machine.

Download the free malware bytes to remove the annoying popups. Then purchase bitdefender antivirus for £13.56. Its only 13 quid and it will stop this happening again.

I'm using Macrovirus-oncall antivirus from couple of weeks now and I'm very pleased with it. For one thing it's not as heavy as Norton's antivirus,it seems to be best virus protection for me.
