I use a program/company like HotelsCombined, it searches and compares various Rome apartment and hotel bookers like Venere, Bookingdotcom, Priceline, Travelocity, Hotelbookers etc etc and returns the best prices from the lot for a specific hotel (or hotels) - or apartment in Rome.
When you have finished your search click on the apartments tab in the bottom left of the menu.
