"v.bat" trojan.

My laptop is running on Windows XP and it has got infected with one file called v.bat.  The file is hidden and read only and is shown as system.  This was identified by the antivirus utilities as "Bloodhound" trojan. The system is not allowing me to change the

SHR attribute or to remove the file.  Hence, I used unix simulating utilities to remove v.bat and also the infected autorun.ini which was also available as hidden file in c:\.  But these two files are getting generated automatically.  How to clean this trojan.

34 thumbs up

If it is Bloodhound, that you're infected with, Symantec tags it as a low risk virus which is easy to remove.

Here are instructions on how to remove it. Nevertheless, before you act as suggested in the instructions, I advise you to run another virus check, this time in safe mode (Booting from a rescue disk is even better). Viruses/Trojans will load and hide during boot up. In  booting from another resource you may be able to find and remove the virus.
