When a hysterotomy has to be performed due to say, limb abnormalities....do they give the unborn baby a lethal injection before performing the operation?

Your question is not clear, but if I understand correctly, the baby has limb abnormalities due to which you have chosen to abort the pregnancy.
To the best of my knowledge, it depends on the week of gestation. Beyond 20 weeks, an injection would probably be given to stop the beating of the heart prior to the procedure, to prevent the baby from being born alive. Earlier than that, the baby has no chance of survival.
