My really ugly 70's kitchen cabinets

to all u decorators out there--HELP--we are currently renting a house and the landlord gave us free reign to decorate anything any way we want---except the UGLY 70's kitchen cabinets. any ideas on how to temp. cover them? something that can easily go back to the UGLY 70's cabinets when we move out. she absolutely will not let us paint or anything. please--any suggestions??????

You can find "shelving paper" in the super market. Usually used to line shelves in cabinets, but can be used for different projects.There are some with flowers or other designs on them, my favorite one is a design that looks like a dark grain wood.It has a paper pull off on the back and it will cling good to about any surface.Just cut it to fit the outside of the cabinets, peel the paper off of the back and put it on the doors of cabinets and smooth it so it looks like wood . Real pretty and cheaper than paint. Can be washed with damp cloth. Hope this gives you some ideas.

You can use a temporary adhesive like double sided tape to stick up wallpaper, corkboard, or even fabric. Sounds like a tricky situation so good luck with your cabinets !
