If you have a banking account you can take the check there and request a rep. to make inquiries for you before you deposit the check. My daughters husband got a check from another so called "winning lottery" deposited the check and with drew money only to later find out from their bank that the check was no good. They lost a lot of their money in their savings account. If you don't have a banking account you can take it to a Currency Exchange and they will make the right calls before cashing the check and let you know right then and there if the check is no good or not. That is what I did, the check was no good. Good luck, be careful.
