I just starting noticing a little white glow or i guess it almost looks like a glare from the sun, athough its not. Its on the bottom of my tv (32 inch toshiba LCD) I just went out and bought cleaner for the tv, cleaner made by Phillips for LCD screens,... and thats when i started to notice the white glare. You can only notice it when the tv is on and when youre watching a movie thats in letterbox (widescreen) or if there is something dark in that area, its really driving me nuts cuz i cant stop focusing on it. It almost looks as if light is shining in front of the screen or something but its not bright at all, just a noticalbe white glow. Anyone know the casue of this and if i can fix it myself?

It sounds like a malfunction in the tv. Try calling the manufacturer of the tv to see what they can do.

unfortunately its not a malfunction with thew TV. Its actuallyr efered to as flashlighting and is caused by the backlight inthe LCD. Not much you can do to fix it, you can try to turn doen the brightness (sometimes helps) other than that! dont accept it and return it for your money back.

I have had 3 LCD 42INCH Tvs'   only one had this problem, ....so.... just keep sending them back till they get it right.

Q:

Televisions: why 3:4 or 9:16?

Televisions always have width/height ratio of 3:4 or 9:16. Why these numbers and not, say, 1:2 (which is very close to 9:16)?
