Is it feasible to take a day trip to Bridlington ...

Is it feasible to take a day trip to Bridlington from London,or would it require an overnight?  I would prefer to travel by train or any other mode of transportation rather than renting a car.

overnight stay is feasible. Take train to York first then change.
