A:I live 45 minutes from the beach and the places where I've seen the most kite surfing is in Santa Cruz and up north a bit near Pescadero & San Gregoria. Here's a link to the only
certified kitesurfing instructor along this stretch of highway (near Waddell Creek, 20 miles north of Santa Cruz...and awesome place BTW!). On the way to a great restaurant, The Shadowbrook, in Capitola, you can sit on a cliff & watch surfers & kite boarders go at it!
