What does it take to be a travel agent and make good money at it?

My passion is travel!  What do I need to do to become a full time travel agent?  Could I make good money doing that and travel?  I heard travel agents get discounts on travel stuff.

Most travel agencies are online now. You don't see much in the way or storefronts in town anymore. I think most independant travel agents with a license are online now. You need to be good at marketing or getting the word out to compete with the big companies like Travelocity and Priceline. I think what makes travel agents good is being update and having lots of connections. A travel agent should know the deals he is offering by experiencing them himself, he should always look for new stuff and attractions. He should also make lots of connections with other travel agents so they can exchange groups when needed. He should be familiar with the tourist market in the area the dominating tourist companies and he should always hire experienced guides who have a good reputation this will help him attract many groups. Once you build your way up money comes in naturally , you get the same people working with you.

Most store fronts have closed and the agents are becoming home based, however a website is okay, but the real money makers use personalization, person to person contact achieved by smart advertising. Go to

You can do it from home. Start your own home base business. Go to www.WattsBusinessOverview.com
