What are your favorite places to visit in Europe ...

What are your favorite places to visit in Europe that you'd recommend to absolutely anyone? I'd love to find spots to visit that aren't necessarily commercial and known mostly to people locally..

One country which is rich with sights, culture and great food is Georgia. I would highly recommend a backpacking trip there.

Depending on your interests are you into historical sight seeing or geographical???

Turkey - Ephesus, ruins of ancient city and Pamukale, a mountain of white marble hot springs

Eygpt - Isis temple, the boat trip by night to it is beautiful and a cruise on the nile the landscape is fantastic

Milan - has a huge cathedral and within minutes drive you are in the snow  capped mountains

Salzburg, Austria - Salt mines, Sound of music tour and again within minutes you are in the mountains

Ireland - full of mythcial stories at nearly every turn in the road some known nationwide others only by the locals

Naples - Pompei is amazing and a trip to vesuvius is only around the corner.

Hope thats of some help
