What's the weather like in San Francisco?

Hi. I was in SFC in July, 2003 and it was always foggy! I wanted to see the Golden Gate Bridge but it was mostly obscured by fog. The city was quite cool to mild and warm during the days. Fog did persist though which really adds to the atmosphere! There was no rain - but fog and cloudy skies. However, I was only the for a short time so things may be different from time to time. So - if you go at this time of year, be prepared for the possibility of lots of fog!

It depends on when you go, but my daughter lives just over the Golden Gate Bridge, so here's what I have found to be the general. It starts out foggy in the morning, but by ten am I can look out from her balcony and see San Fran across the bay. Usually the temp hods between 62 to 72. It can be cool in the evening, so if you are going to the Wharf in the evening, take a coat. I always take jeans and sweaters, and wear layers.

This is one of the best times of year for San Francisco. The last few days have been cool, but it will most likely warm up to the high 60's next week. It's beautiful this time of year. Take it from a San Francisco native!
