My daughter is getting married in May at a 7 pm church wedding.  Most of the male guests will be wearing tuxedos (a tradition here in the south).  The bride and groom want the wedding party to be more casual and wear seersucker suits.  Would this be appropriate?  Should we let guests know this by attaching a note to the save-the-date cards?

13 thumbs up

When ever it comes to weddings there seems to be a misunderstanding . Although the parents are usually the ones that pay for it , it's the fresh couples' party, therefore let them do whatever they want on their wedding . It is their party you are the one that is paying and you are off course the guest of honor. If they want a more casual dressing code -seersucker suits then it is appropriate even though it is a tradition.
