She took our truck...need advice

Need advice. We leaned our truck to a young girl, (with the option to buy) who lived with us for 8 months with her two children. We adopted her first son, 8 years ago, at birth. We were very good with her and treated her like a daughter. We lead her our truck with the option of buying it (because she has bad credit). Before Christmas my husband lost his job. She was expecting a big check and we ask her to give us a payment because we don't have a job. She said she would and went to La. for Christmas and never came back with the truck. I did find her parents and I found out this girl, Heather, told them that the son we adopted from her, was killed in a car accident. We went to the police and they said they can't do anything because we gave her permission to use the truck. We also contact the attorney general, lawyers and anyone who would listen. She is living somewhere in tx.

All we were doing was trying to help another person and we got screwed. Maybe someone has an advise. I have her full name and social securty number. How can I find her and get our truck back? Please email me and, please, no prank messages. You can email me at mholmes899@aol.com and in the subject type in Heather or I might think it's spam. Thanks in advance.

We went to the sherrif office and they said it's a civil case not criminal. The reason for that is that we gave her permission to use the truck. We have to find her first to do a civil case and I don't think she wants to be found.

thanks for replying
