If my kids have a good life, I will be happy

Are you tired of people like me walking all over ...

Are you tired of people like me walking all over your posted questions, and getting off-task? I know I am. I felt comfortable with certain people, but I was inconciderate blurbing; and if new-comers walked in, they wouldn't know what the hell was going on! Please except my apology; and post whatever you want here; as long as it isn't abusing the members. If someone starts abusing the community on here, I will report them. To newcomers; this post won't make much sense, until you develop some friendships with the members here. You are welcome to introduce yourself, and make some new; and genuine friendships. All my love -

Chucho (Doug)

If my kids have a good life, I will be happy

Hey, gang - Can you please pass this along to the neighborhood? I've invited a few friends; but with dial-up; it's taking me forever. Thanks! Love you

Turn off the television and teach your children how to think.

Guilty! I'm a relative newbie, but I'm still guilty of this. Add my apologies to Chucho's, as well as my admission that I wandered into a conversation between Chucho and someone (now another friend of mine) before I made friends with them and it did make me feel odd.

So my apologies again to anyone to whom I did the same.

Oh, and as Chucho says, feel free to jump in and/or tell us to find another spot to chat - so long as you jump and tell with respect for everyone. Happy reading and replying!

Thanks, jk (I'm going to have to call you jk; because I'm a grampa, and you're in my era!)

Oh - And to all: NO THUMBS DOWN!

If you see them, they are a figment of your imagination. "They do not exist"

You're getting sleepy, very sleepy; you do not see any thumbs down; run to your happy place.....

The road to nowhere is paved with good intentions.

Hey, I like what you've done here Chucho. We all should set up one of these generic gab-sites. Some where to just shoot the breeze.. period.

A few times I have come accross an interesting or serious topic, and read responses that have nothing to do with the question at all ... or worse yet, I'll answer a question, then keep getting Yedda E-mails that there is a new answer, then when I look, all it says is HI or something!  I have actually gone in and deleted some of my answers because I didn't want keep getting E-mails on certain questions.  So this is a great idea! I hope it catches on!!!

Asha, I was getting loaded up with emails regarding new responses as well; I finally went into Settings and un-checked the box to notify me re new posts. I figured if I was going to be on Yedda anyway, then I would already know there were new responses (since it comes up when you're in 'my activity'). Maybe you'd want to try that as well?

Hey, Chucho and all,

You are absolutely right... it is inconsiderate, BUT, alot of us click, and its hard not to chat wherever we are, LOL!  Sometimes, the question generates discussion that meanders away from the original post.  I am not sure I think that is wrong.  Sometimes, there is a creativity to it.  A question about Dreamtime illicits quotes from songs about dreams.  Perhaps, it really has to do with the asker of the question and how they view answering.  For me, when I ask a question, I like to hear people's answers, but, I consider it a sort of  "salon".... a place to go and discuss what ever comes up because of the question.  The only time I get really annoyed, is when people are being mean, or, if the question is really serious and they are cutting up.

So there's my two cents worth, LOL!

Oh, and one more thing that I have seen that gnaws at me... When people make fun of the asker of the question.  I don't think that should ever happen, no matter what they are asking about.  It is my belief that we are not here to figure out if the person is on the up and up or to judge in any way, shape or form.  There is nothing wrong with giving you personal opinion, but, it should be done with integrity for the asker and the answerer.
