Everyone knows that if you are in a hurry to get ...

Everyone knows that if you are in a hurry to get somewhere, by going faster to the destination you need to be at, you save some time. Does that also mean that if you´d go fast enough, you´d be there, ahead of time, or in other words you´d go back in time?

If so would you then be at your destination even before you descided to go there?

If you follow Einstein's equations, the closer you get to the speed of light, the more mass you have, which takes more energy to accelerate, which makes you more massive, which takes more energy and etc. Presuming you could get solid matter to the speed of light and not turn it into a blackhole, I would say no, unless you were a comic book hero. In which case, sure, why not. It happens all the time.
