I keep hearing myself thinking out loud, telling myself to die. It is my own voice, I am not hearing voices. What is wrong with me?

Be Blessed.

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (Love), I am become as a sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vauneth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seekth not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth.

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is (Love) charity.

Hi online3,

The best person to answer that is a trained professional. Please see one as soon as possible. If you don't have the finances, there are free mental health clinics that can help you.

Obviously it is not schizophrenia. I am not delusional, I am not hearing voices, I hear NO other voices such as internal voices. Noone is telling me negative things and no voices is talking to me.

I am catching myself saying I should die. While suicide is not on my mind and I have no intent to kill myself.

But thanks for the diagnose attempt. I know you meant well.

Choose to make it a great day, my new Friend!

It could be any number of things from depression to forms of Tourette Syndrome http://www.tsa-usa.org/Medical/whatists_cov.html   where subconscious, and conscious, words and thoughts just come out verbally due to neurological disorders that bypass the normal "filtering" processes of the conscious mind.  Professional help (psychological and/or medical)  may help you discover the answer. Self-destructive symptoms/"wishes" are not typical behavior or thoughts and should be treated seriously, as they can intensify if left ignored (which you are not doing!) :) I agree, not schizophrenic or delusional...you seem clearly aware of, and logical/rational, about what is happening and who you are (or are not).  Good luck in your search for knowledge, understanding,  and peace.

 Be Thankful

 Speak softly

 Let your love shine...

I think LeedTex has given you an excellent answer.  But as Tippy says, a trained professional can help you also.  You are lucky that you are rational enough to recognize a problem such as this yourself, instead of having others recognize it and you deny it.  You are an intelligent person.  Best of everything as you search.
